Valerie Henderson is a proven business leader who has 20+ years experience with a leading North American financial institution and has served as a Consultant and Coach in a broad range of roles: executing strategic business initiatives, organizational change development and implementation, supporting executive growth and development, operations and delivery management and information technology.

Valerie is a results-oriented senior leader, excelling in leading change at the individual level or organizational level. Valerie’s honed skills in project management provide her the ability to integrate business priorities to effectively implement business strategies and initiatives on time and within budget. She is a highly effective people person and team builder who is credited with an energetic and collaborative management style.

In previous senior management roles she has been accountable for many “start ups” of Program Management Office operations. She has been in a corporate executive role responsible for designing and leading an integrating body that managed the logistical, organization and cultural change requirements for achieving various strategic goals across a diverse group of business lines.

As Vice President of a Program Management Office, in a major Canadian Financial Institution, and in a consulting capacity in Healthcare in US, Valerie implemented tools and processes that integrated a Managing Organization Change framework with a project management approach.

She particularly enjoys helping leaders develop structured and disciplined approaches to managing and controlling the execution of change, from a technical, financial and human perspective. “I am really energized working amongst a team of leaders who really desire results from their business investments; it’s a great feeling when we can organize a strategic vision into a workable, measurable plan”.

Since 2003, Valerie has been the principal of her own consulting business. In 2005 she has introduced coaching as a specialized offering—expanding her menu of services to her corporate clients. Valerie delivers results.

  • She is licensed and accredited to facilitate and coach individuals and teams using two world-class business based tools helping people achieve a higher level of effectiveness.
  • She designs and implements strategies that get clarity on the intent of business goals, identifies and mitigates risk, creates a logical, efficient approach to delivery, and establishes robust tracking and control measures.
  • She supports leadership in governing and measuring results enabling quick and effective issue resolution.

Valerie has been successfully coaching leaders through change and can provide individual professional coaching in support of leaders being their best.

Some of her recent coaching/consultant engagements include:

  • Working in the financial services sector, served to support the SVP responsible to introduce internal control measures (Sarbanes Oxley)
  • Led the implementation of a key marketing strategy in Retail franchise in financial services sector
  • Served as a Project Manager in the opening of a state of the art Intensive Care Unit for Health Organization in Omaha, Nebraska that managed a group of 12 hospitals
  • Supporting the Human Resources Executive at a large Healthcare organization in Omaha, Nebraska oversaw the timely implementation of key business imperatives. Knowledge and capability transfer occurred through one on one coaching sessions with executive and key change agents and bi-weekly status update meetings with standard, consistent reporting guidelines.
  • Valerie also serves individual client in the area of professional coaching (current, active portfolio ongoing basis) helping client take action in achieving personal and professional goals

In addition to holding a Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics) from Laurentian University (Canada), Valerie’s accreditations also include:

  • Adler Certified Professional Coach (ACPC) and active member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the Greater Toronto Area Chapter of the ICF
