Shadow Coaching

Why are some executives more effective leaders than others?

Because leadership is unique to each individual and each individual has to be viewe4d and supported based on his or her own specific style of leadership and effectiveness. That’s where we come in.

Leaders understand that the key to meeting future challenges lies in the development and empowerment of themselves and their staff in order to achieve results and meet the objectives of their organization.

The challenge lies with how to translate what is usually a one-on-one process into something that shapes organizational behavior. It’s fitting the pieces of a puzzle together so as one can become masterful in their jobs while at the same time evolving all those around them.

By entering the client’s environment, Conquering Change works with them in translating awareness into practice, essentially fostering the emergence of the Shadow Coach™ in the clients themselves. Conquering Change uses an adaptable and comprehensive approach in working with Conquering Change’s clients. Conquering Change uses a unique structure that enables her to understand individuals and their worlds sufficiently to design coaching that shifts their developmental level.

Shadow Coaching™ is a particular advanced application of reflective and observational coaching that provides one way for clients to go below the surface into the core dynamics of a situation, illuminating the truth of the moment and making decisions that move people forward.

Shadow Coaching™ is a real time learning approach in developing a refined self-awareness and capabilities in the workplace as a result of reflection on practice. It enables people, not only to benefit from the continuous presence of an observing coach over an extended period of a time in a typical set of workdays, but also develops their own role as self-observer for the long term. It teaches clients to become reflective practitioners.

This type of coaching is ideally suited to organizational leaders who must make decisions and act adaptively in intense work environments. Shadow coaching involves partnering with clients in their work environments and brings another experienced and fresh perspective that helps to identify problematic dynamics, work habits and assumptions that impede effectiveness. Within Shadow Coaching™ is the competency of Laser Coaching™ which involves being able to provoke the leader’s awareness of these problematic features in ways that they can be addressed immediately. It goes beyond support to problem solving.

Shadow Coaching&trade attends to the individual, social, relational and environmental aspects of the client’s “world”. The Shadow Coach coaches all sides of a person’s personality, what clients are aware of and what they aren’t paying attention to including their “Shadow” personality. It creates seismically altering change.

Laser Coaching™

For the one-time “Tasters”, or a past client... or just “Situational” need, Conquering Changes offers laser coaching—quick, focused, action-oriented session(s), where a previous relationship may or may not have existed, but where short, laser sharp, coaching sessions are desired to “get unstuck” or work through a situation or problem.
